Re: jimmy frontend

Grill, radiator support and that should be it for a 71-72 chevy front end. On a 72 GMC the fenders and hood are the same I belive.

Also just for info all 67-72 front sheet metal and radiator supports are the same for trucks, burbs and Blazers. so 67truck and 67 burb are the same as would be a 71 blazer and burb. But 67-68 is one style , 69-70 are one style and then 71-72 are the next style. They have small differances between each style but nothing major that can not be changed. Clear as mud..Good

Re: jimmy frontend

What about the bumpers and brackets? My jimmy has a blazer noze job, but the bumper brackets don't line up to install the mounting bolts. Any ideas?

68-72 GMC fenders are the same as 68 chevy fenders the 69-72 chevy fenders have a grove in the front for the grill shell

This I do not understand, everyone says it but I just do not see it. Here are some pics of a bone stock GMC in my friends shop and it has the wrap around grill like the 69-72's have

Re: jimmy frontend

Rad supports vary from years 67-68, and 69-72 on Chevy's, and GMC of
course has the 4 headlights so it vary's from both of those above also. I
know I have 67-70 bumper brackets on my 71, but that is because I run
the 67-70 front bumper. If it is the Jimmy I think your talking about and
you want a 72 Chevy nose you need a Rad support, Fenders, Hood, Hood
latch support, 71/72 bumper and brackets, and 71/72 turn signal housings.
if you want a 72 GMC nose you will need some of that, but not all I think.

Im not sure if that is a molding option. I worked at Certifit (Interstate in utah)
for 7 years and we sold 68 chevy fenders for 68-72 GMCs . My blazer has a 68 chevy hood and fenders and a 71 gmc rad-support and grill on it and the truck the grill came off of had the 68 fenders .

Kevin,
I thought the same thing until I got my 72 Jimmy. The grille surround pieces on the front of the fenders are actually separate moldings that snap into the fenders with molding clips. It's kinda hard to explain without seeing the piece off the fender, but there is no "groove" for the molding to fit into, it fits over the fender. If that makes any sense.

Re: jimmy frontend

That was the only logical thing if they were the same fenders. Thanks for clearing that up.

Re: jimmy frontend

Kevin, there are some pics in this link showing the fronts of a 70 jimmy fender with and without the trim. These should clear it up.

Re: jimmy frontend

Roger,

That's a great shot, showing what I was trying to explain.
The PO of my Jimmy lost the three clips, and stuck em back on with duct tape
