Re: How many 4wd Suburban guys do we have?

mine is 4X4. Just got it about a month ago. Traded my CJ7 renegade for it and got a little cash to make up the difference. It's a 6.2L diesel with the banks sidewinder turbo installed by the dealership when it was new. Unfortunately I moved from michigan to tennessee a couple years ago and we don't get much snow down here.

That thing is SWEET!!

How do you like the banks turbo?
You have this and a N/A 6.2 Burb also, right?
Is there a big difference in power?

Re: How many 4wd Suburban guys do we have?

Here's my 85 diesel burb....I need to get a better pic tho. It's a little different now, made some changes to the roof rack. Over the next couple months I want to put dual shocks on all 4 corners, replace the 4 bad glow plugs that are stuck in the heads, and get the new solenoids on my winch so I can put that back on.

Nice Burb!

I heard of a trick on the glow plugs, I haven't tried it yet but it came from someone who works on tons of the Detroits and has had specific training.

Loosen the glow plug and pull it as far as you can by hand.
Unplug the fuel cut off solenoid at the front of the engine.
Crank the engine over and the compression will blow the glow plug out.
Easier than breaking them off and digging out the pieces...
I assume it will shoot out like a bullet though, might want some sort of cushion to catch it.

Thanks!!! I've heard about that trick too. I remember someone said it souned like a gun going off and he had to check his shorts afterwards because it startled him so bad.
