Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

looks like a c30 dually (outer duals missing) on a shorter than shortbox frame to me..

if factory, possibly a military or commercial contract for special application?

would be interesting to know what's going on there..

but either way, that cab and front clip (depending what's hiding underneath) may be worth the asking price alone..

I was thinking the same on cab/clip alone might be worth it.

Looking at the pics, it appears the axle was moved forward on the frame (and tail end of frame cut) since it looks like the axle is placed under a low point in the frame. Who knows, but it does appear 'modified' ...

That was my guess as well. I also thought possibly something at an airport for moving planes?

71 C2500 Custom Camper $8900 Really like the two tone scheme of the darker blue GMC interior instrument bezel/gb door against the medium blue. (I like it a laaat...)

There’s no catch they’re nice older couple
Actually I bought the blue 71 k10 on the background from them yesterday
Super clean runner. No rust all original and mint and drove it home 45 minutes for 5200
And good luck moving to Bozeman anymore it’s 800k for an average home now

1971 Gmc 3/4 ton camper special. Original drivetrain. 350 4 speed transmission with granny gear. Runs really well. New seat upholstery. New carb. New retro original style stereo. Dash or doors not cut. Has original rubber mat in good condition. Has some rust in the rockers and cab corners as they all do. This is a solid original truck as you can see in the pictures.

That's a nice, low-mile, original truck.

I wonder why they did not see the value in providing a photo of the SPID and the buddy buckets. And maybe someone could answer my question about whether or not this is a 68 327. I thought that in 68 they still used the front oil filler tube?

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

Georgie, I think most people don’t know what a SPID is or how much folks like us like to see them. Agree, 68 327 has the front filler tube - this truck has this, looks correct to me (it’s almost invisible in one of the pics, but visible in the other one).

Thanks for the good eyes on the oil filler tube. But that still leaves the buddy buckets to our imagination. The owner talks about the seat in the ad but does not mention them as buddy buckets. Maybe he does not know how special they are.

It’s a dealer/flipper. Click on his “other ads” option in the post, you’ll see about 6 other vehicles he’s selling. The air cleaner is not correct, neither are the wheel
covers, and probably other small details as well. It’s a nice truck but he doesn’t know squat about it.

I agree, the 327 would have come with a TH400 as the automatic, not a powerglide.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

Agree, buddies are worth a mention, especially since they were not included with the CST trim level in 68 as they were in 67. If no A50 on the SPID in 68, it came with a bench, even if it was a CST.
