There are only two different intakes for those ls motors . The ls2 cathedral port and the ls3 rectangle port. Have the heads been change. Post a picture of the engine and intake.

There are more than 2 intake types, but your correct that there are only two port Styles. Rectangle port and Cathedral port.

What about it isn't fitting? Are the runners not lining up, or something else?

Don't forget about the LS7, which is also unique.

Ya but doesn't the LS7 use a rectangle port also? You can put the LS7 intake onto an LS3. The runner design is made for higher cube cars, but I don't know if I'd say its another port type. It'll interchange, just not necessarily make the best power on a sub-400ci engine

The ls7 will not fit the ls3. Different port locations.

Re: Ls intake lq9 6.0

I feel like a idiot about the fit but it was hitting a bracket on the rear and would not drop down so that problem is solved. Now another problem the heads are cathedral and the intake is a rectangle. The catalog says it is for a ls2 but I thought Ls2 heads are cathedral. Will this work. On the factory intake the top is not a full opening it is where the injector sit and in the aftermarket the injector is mounted above the rectangle in a hole of its own pointing into the top of the cathedral port so it looks like it should inject at the same hole.

No , It will not work . Not sure about the intake. Not familiar with professional products. If it is a rectangle it is for a l92/ls3. Ls2 is cathedral

Yes, it does use a "rectangle" port, but LS7 heads are completely different than LS3 heads...larger intake and exhaust ports, different valve angle, larger valves, and as homemade87 pointed out, the port and intake manifold bolt spacing are different.

No sir. The shape of the port is quite different.

Left to right:

CATHEDRAL
RECTANGULAR
LS7

Re: Ls intake lq9 6.0

Interesting as I'm seeing more and more threads about builds boring out LS2 and LS6 blocks to about 4.1 so the valves aren't shrouded, and having it work. I'll have to qualify that these have all been custom blocks, so if there is a bolt pattern mismatch they might be handling it in the build (but I haven't seen mention of it).

I'm pretty sure all stock cathedral ports are the same.

The new manifold ports are the same configuration and they match except on the manifold they are about1/2 inch shorter at the bottom

That intake won't work. I'm curious as to why you didn't keep the truck intake?
They make way more torque.
