overhead air for front and rear. ????

I went to look at a parts burb yesterday. The body is shot but its a standard trans 4 wd . ac truck with buckets and a tach all verified by the spid. What was unusual to me was the dash had no vents in the dash. the ac front and rear was all overhead. any thoughts? I have no interest in the accessories ;air cond or buckets. my interest is in the running gear and frame. i was puzzled by the ac setup. Was it factory or dealer installed? this is not a sales post , just wondering if there is much demand for those things. Thanks

Yes, some just had the roof air and if the A/C is listed on the SPID I'm not sure what's going on. I thought the ones that just had the roof air were a dealer installed unit for trucks that were shipped from the factory without A/C. There are always guys looking for roof air units and buckets.... Sign up for a "Premium" membership and you will be able to sell all of the extra parts on the board with no problem. If you click on the word "Subscribe" in the menu bar above it will list all of the subscription options.

C69 Air Conditioning.

It was this or dealer installed underdash air.

1972 was the first year for front and rear A/C units and buckets were no longer listed as an option.

Thanks LockDoc and bigdav160, The picture is exactly what was in it. Although the buckets were in poor condition they and the ac were listed on the SPID. I forgot to mention it also had a roofrack which was a little bent . Was that a dealer option ?This site is really the best at sorting out these trucks.!

Even in poor condition the buckets are worth some $

Anyone have pictures of the factory buckets? I just picked up a suburban with overhead air with no dash vents and it has some buckets that I just assumed were out of something else. Maybe they are stock.

stively, look at sob/blazer parts board. There are some for sale there and you can see if yours are correct.

I've never seen a set of Suburban buckets up close. I would assume the brackets are like a truck but they have plastic backs like a Blazer. No matter how bad they are, there's some value in the parts.

Thanks! I'll have to go compare the pictures to my seats tomorrow when it's light outside.

I might be interested in the bucket seats if you are going to sell them.
