pricing question

Ive found a 1969 chevy burban 4 door
guy wants 800$ for it

apparently has 75k original miles he bought it at an estate sale and said he drove it home. since someone has stolen the alternator starter and radiator.

it needs windshield both front door skins and rockers. other than that he says its solid as a rock.

what should I do

Re: pricing question

The 4 door question looms...
Do you want a burb?
Mechanical parts are $300 or so and the body as described ~$1500 farmed out. Chances are the rust is more than expected. Can you fix it? Get under it and look...
Paint is as much as you want to spend...
Drum brakes in front is a turnoff for me. I wait for 71-72 for the disks. But I like 4x4 vehicles and it may be an easy conversion on a 4x2.

Re: pricing question

I don't want it go get away lol.

Screw paint im good with the patina look.
I can fix the rust that's no problem

And I agree drum brakes suck that would be my first upgrade for sure

Re: pricing question

It looks like a pretty complete suburban less the rust issues. $800 is a steal for it. Throw a couple hundred in it and it will be a runner. btw, 67-72 burbs are not 4 door. They're 3 door. two on the passenger side and one on the drivers

Re: pricing question

Thank you for the heads up on the 3 door. Didn't know that which is neat. Seller has been honest with me the entire time and that make me feel more comfortable especially since I'll be driving 7hrs to grab this ppossiby

Re: pricing question

I'd buy it right now. Replacements for the stolen parts are common, and Brothers is selling a complete Burb headliner kit now. My 72 Burb is nearly done!

I'm going in 2 weeks to grab it now time for some more pictures and a question.
If I'm looking for lowering parts would they just be the ones for the c10 trucks?

Re: pricing question

Already paid for it. And it's technically not for sale anywhere else he must happen to know I wanted one. Me and the owner drift together. And the reason I have to wait is I don't have a day off for the next 2 weeks :/

Re: pricing question

Got all my lowering stuff from CPP. Great products in my opinion. No issues at all with my 3/4" drop set up.

Re: pricing question

Safe to also assume if I wanted 5 lug I'd just have to obtain a rear axle and spindle and brakes from a newer style 5 lug c10 since I've already got steel wheels with brand new tires on them 15x8 fronts 15x10 rears
