Did I make a bad choice of tran cooler ?
I installed a new rad. and decided to get rid of old cooler. Is on a 78 short box stock 350/350. Cooler is not going thru the rad. I ordered a Hayden but when I got it it looked small after I hooked it up. Is for a mid size van it says. I don,t haul anything with, just a summer cruiser. No hiway driving, no freeways around here anyway. Here are some pics of new one and old one. The old one has been on the truck for years with no problems. No, not a bad choice...it will work fine.
Just one thing, if you drive this during the colder season, it would be beneficial to plumb the cooler thru the radiator for the colder months. The trans needs to come up to operating temp quickly especially during cold weather. Do you have an electric fan system pulling air thru the radiatir?

the cooler you installed is actually a better cooler than the blue one. You did fine
