I don't watch or read the news. It's not information. It's cleverly designed spin by people with agendas.

It's too bad. Because I'd like to know what's going on and stay informed. But I just can't get past all the B.S.

My wife doesn't let me watch the news. I'm screaming at the tv in 2 seconds. It's a shame, the weather girl is super cute.

I gave up watching the news. All they want to do is depress you and give you their opinion instead of just reporting the facts. It's no wonder depression is rampant. I choose to be happy, even if it's just to make others mad because they think I shouldn't be.

This is very true in my neck of the woods. Lots of "good old Americans" still out here! And contrary to what the media will tell you, there is still a great deal of patriotism in this country!

Just put the TV on mute and wait for the weather girl. You don't need to listen to her.

Love that thanks for sharing it! I haven’t watched the news in years, I do listen to a certain AM talk radio show daily even still after it’s host and my hero passed away earlier in the year, that is the extent of my regular news intake. There’s still a ton of good, patriotic, God fearing people in this country, I believe most everyone on this board fits that mold. The media and social media are the huge dividing factors in this world and I wish there was a way to turn it all off; the wold would be a better place in my opinion. Andy Stanley has some good mentors it would appear.
I don’t watch a lot of television at all unless it’s old westerns or car and truck stuff. I read mainly and one of my favorites is Marcus Aurelius. One of his short sayings I repeat to myself often: “Learn to be indifferent to things that make no difference.” I try to give things the proper amount of concern but if I cannot influence it I don’t give it much concern at all. That, and I pray for strength and guidance daily.

I figured out any news worth knowing I'll hear about. I usually check the local NBC (Baltimore) station's website in the morning for the weather report and I'll catch a glance at headlines. That's all the news I need.

I tried the news websites. But they are so peppered with pop up ads that I stopped.

No pop-ups on my news website, but if I watch a video I have to watch an ad, like on YouTube. I am the same way with sites that plaster pop-ups over what I went there to read. Really erks me bad! I just went to Snopes for the first time and that's what happened, two pop-ups at once over top of what I started reading. No thanks, seeya. I'll never go again. No wonder people don't fact check

when you realize the media gets money from news, you realize how the most sensational stuff is whats covered, and that modern journalism is creative advertising. this trend of "trial by media" has turned me off the news completely.
