Re: Here's One That Is Right Up Paul's Alley...

That's a beautiful car. Too nice for me. I'd be afraid to touch it let alone drive it.

I'm a little skeptical about it being all original. It looks too nice for 67 years old. I'm around that age and I haven't held up nearly as well. But I aint no Cadillac.

I'd love to have it in my garage. Except it might be a tight squeeze.

I had new garage door openers installed. The old ones were junk. The guy told me that I had 9 ft. doors and you can't get them anymore, just 8 footer's now. So I jokingly said "Great I can fit my dually in there'. He just shook his head and said nope, you aren't getting that bus in here without tearing out your cabinets and even then it's doubtful. It's tough having an oversized vessel.

9' high or 9' wide? What size are your doors? I think guy is full if it.

I agree with tim. When i order garage doors they usually come in 1' increments. There are a few sizes that are odd, but even a special order is doable.

That's just what the guy said. I know nothing about garage doors. The only thing that I know is that they are a good way to get in and out of the garage.

Re: Here's One That Is Right Up Paul's Alley...

I can find 9' wide or 9' high all day long in standard sizes. But I'd need to know which dimension is 9' and what the other dimension is. I'm assuming it's 9' height because I know 9' wide is available from 7' up. But since you don't need doors, why bother.

I need a 7'H x 9'W for my mini garage I threw up for my '67 project. It's only 12' wide but I would never consider an 8' wide door. 10' is best for a single, if you have the room.

I'd love to own that Sedan de Ville! I'm 67 for a little longer and I would look terrible if I had been kept in a garage all these years!

I didn't mean to imply that, but based on what we know about him, one could think that's certainly a possibility!

Not an unreasonable assumption. I've had some trouble with both.

In a way both my ex wives and old chili dogs have something in common. They started out all fine and dandy and then things went downhill fast.

Re: Here's One That Is Right Up Paul's Alley...

$40k for that fine Cadillac true classic is a bargain basement price compared to what 67-72 trucks are selling for. I've noticed this at Spring Carlisle. All original '70 Coupe de Ville blue on blue beauty for less than a cobbled together with LMC replacement (not reproduction) parts '70 long bed with diamond plate bed floor and fresh paint

Can you imagine what a pristine all original 67-72 well optioned truck in that condition would go for? It sure wouldn't be no 40K. That'd be the down payment.

I'm surprised no one has snapped this up. No, I have no connection to it.

40K is a lot of money. Unless you're one of my ex wives. Then it's not enough.

I'm surprised as well. But a good deal is only a good deal if you've got the money.

If I had the money I would fly out and drive it home. Don't have the money to buy it though. Maybe one day!

Fly out and float home. If you did drive it home you'd have to allow extra time to talk to people every time that you stopped that beauty.
