I did that the other week. I put $20 in, enough to get home and get to my normal gas-up stop.

Re: Gas Prices?

Yeah, it's still a kick in the ding dong here too. Diesel is still at $3.38 and gas is around $3.17-20. It changes every dang hour I swear. But the NG prices are what makes me leery!

Re: Gas Prices?

We're still in a holding pattern at $4.679 for 87 octane. I can't wait to see what heating oil will be going for this winter.

At the S-Hell station which is allways $0.30 higher on the 87 oct. gas,
The Kerosene was $4.43

My '14 Camaro is about to hibernate for the winter too. I got some Sta-bil the other day. I'll probably drive it to work one day next week, fill it up and in the garage it goes.
Gas is holding fairly steady at around $3:30/gal for 87.

Sad time of the year huh? I’ve got my 2010 SS mostly put away for the winter. I’ll bust him out for laps for charity in Vegas in late January but probably not much more than that. I only drove the damn thing a little over 1500 miles this year since January and most of that was 2 laps for charity events in Vegas and Phoenix. I really need to drive it more, but still having low miles is nice too.

Re: Gas Prices?

I remember twelve years ago it was $4.20 in Oregon.
I didn't think it would ever go down.
2.5 years ago I purchased regular in GA for under $2.00.
I pay what it costs.

Re: Gas Prices?

I can't remember the last time I paid attention to the cost at the pump (it might scare the dickens out of me). I look at the price per gallon, and I record the amount pumped. When the Visa bill shows up, I pay it.

Winter in New Mexico? Sure, it might get cold at night, but doesn't it warm up into the 70s in the daytime? Certainly they don't use salt or brine on the roads, do they? Up here, that is very much the case. They will infact "pretreat" the roads with brine in anticipation of snow. That is why mine has never been driven in the winter. It did get lightly snowed on one night, when I got surprised by an early one. Low miles? absolutely my '14 has 19,8something.

Same here, in '08 it was a bit over $4 for a short time. It hovered in the high $3. 80-90 range most of that time.
Here just over a year ago, when oil was trading in the negative, I bought gas for $1.78.

That was part of my rant when the news claims the the price is up by whatever dumb percentage they claim, but it's waaay under-reported.
That gas for $1.78 had a tax of $0.58 here. And, like everywhere I have ever heard of, that is a flat (per gallon) tax, not percentage based. That means the actual gas part of the cost was only $1.20.
Doing the math on today's price of $3.30 minus the tax, comes out to $2.72. That is 2.6 times the cost, well over the 50-60-whatever percent that they claim.

Well, it happened again. Snow today

I actually live about 14 miles from Colorado, we get some snow and we definitely get pretty cold from December to March. When I lived in Virginia (where I grew up) they used that damn brine to pre treat the roads. Half the time they would put that crap on the roads and the storms wouldn’t develop. Luckily they use a sand salt mix at times here but really sparingly, unfortunately though we don’t get much rain to wash it off the roads. These pictures were close to 3 years ago. I keep it in a climate controlled shop now, hasn’t been outside like that since about the time that pic was taken.

Too keep the thread on track to some degree it’s Still about 3.49/gallon here.

Thanks, the Camaro is my baby(or mistress if you ask my wife) I sure do love the 5th gens and 1st gens a ton. I’m going to pull the trigger on a second 5th Gen, ‘14 or ‘15 ZL1 if the used car prices ever calm down.

That's funny. You reminded me of this old Shell station that faced the street at an angle so you saw two sides at the same time driving by. It had the red shell letters on both walls. The 'H' had come down on the left wall and the 'S' was missing on the right wall. I got a chuckle every time I drove by and read "SELL HELL"

Re: Gas Prices?

I wanted a 5th gen from the time they hit the street, but was just not in a position to get one because of having just bought my HHR panel in '07.
By the middle of the summer of '14, I was looking more seriously. It was July and some of the '15s were already out. I drove one and was not particularly into the rear-view camera/screen. The halo ring headlights disappeared too, so I went for the '14.
Having owned 3 different '69 Camaros, I really appreciated the attempt to emulate that look. The retro thing was/is still pretty popular from the SSR, HHR, Challenger, etc.

Yep I get it, I first saw the concept car in person in the fall of 2007 at the Chevy rock and roll 400 Cup race at Richmond International Raceway. Love at first sight. I was just 21 when they started showing up on the streets in 2009, but I was determined I would have one some day. The 5th Gen Camaro is almost equally as magical as the 67-72 trucks most all of us love here. Gm really hasn’t done a whole lot right in the last 15-20 years in my opinion, but the 10-15 Camaro is certainly one huge thing they nailed.

I really liked my '07 HHR Panel too. It was a funky little thing. I liked the look of the regular wagons, when they came out in '05, but not really in the market for a new vehicle, still rolling the '98 S-10. I went to look at new HHRs in '06, but my local dealer dropped the ball, so I let it slide. Later, I was glad that it happened like that, because I had seen pics of the panel version by then. No one around locally had one in stock to actually look at though?
I had to drive about 35 miles south, to a small town dealer who had one. It was just base model and fleet white, but it gave me some sense of the interior, which was my main concern. I ended up ordering a higher trim level version from them. That thing was perfect for me and my work. It's a 2 seater with a long flat floor, functionally kind of like a small pick up truck with a cap. The 2 seat thing did eventually become a problem as my kid got older. It's not like the Camaro has luxurious rear seats, but they are legal, and I have always had a 4 x 4 truck since buying it.
I really like the halo ring headlights of the '14, that was a very short-lived feature.

I think yesterday's news here stated a 70% increase in natural gas here. A huge amount of our power grid is operated on NG. Those valves freezing up was part of our grid failure back in February. I was fortunate, never lost power but, still popped a pipe.

I've picked up (2) 12,000 watt dual fuel generators...just in case. Plus, adding a couple of additional propane tanks. Easier / safer to store than gas cans. One should be able to power up most of our 2,800 sq. ft. Primary home. And the second will be more than enough to provide ''whole house'' (1,900 sq. ft.) power for the lake house. Where I have an auxiliary propane line running to the deck for the griddle and grill. I can use that for continuous fuel on that unit.

I hope I never need either one of them.
