Can't wait to have it running again, maybe 2 or 3 days and I will get to hear the melodic sounds going through the Flowmasters again.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

My brother finally got around to getting his car out of storage today so the full restore could happen. I helped him get it home so no work on the truck today but I will be helping alot on this project soon. 74' Z28 HO, it has been in the family since new. It is all original except for the paint and emblems, it will be redone with the huge stripe kit that came on that year only.

Camaro's didn't have swivel's, but the late 70's Cutlass 442 did along with the Thunderbirds in the 60's. Swivels were cool!

It feels great. Yes it is the same brother, he has two classics that need love. My nephew seems to be growing up a little so he is not as irritating as he was......maybe the truck and more time with his dad helped!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

I know the Monte Carlos had swivels till 77.I saved them when I scrapped the car, along with the console,& they`ll go in my other project,a 69 Olds 88 convertible. The engine & tranny from that Monte are in my 72 GMC.
I have to say I really admire your truck,& your patience throughout the engine ordeal. The truck is truly a work of art,& especially being a long bed...

You`re very welcome!
Its guys like you who do outstanding work keeps me motivated in my 72 longbed.I`ve owned it,or the few remaining pieces from the original truck, since 98,when I retired the Monte.
I just need a camera & I could start a thread. The truck is ready to be blasted apart, just needs funds lol...

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Got a little more done on the engine today. Tomorrow I will put an oil filter on it, dump some oil in it and prime the oil pump. It might be back in the truck tomorrow.

How do you like the alternator bracket you are running? I got the dbl hump heads also and been trying to figure out what to do about the alternator.

Seems to be sturdy and have not had any issues with any of the brackets. The bracket on the headers does not hinder the bolts from tightening down and staying tight. I'm happy with the outcome!

Thanks Kevin. Next is wiring it a little cleaner than the first time. I also polished a couple of parts that were previously painted and I can put those on. But I still have tons of stuff that I can do to it, one big one is colorsand the whole truck......weeeeee.

Thanks bro! Having a few extra hands helped alot, but I did manage to scratch the frame very little and one header. Nothing too bad but we just took our time and watched it from every angle.

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

After 2 and a half days straight working on the engine to get it prepped it was time to test it out. First try it wanted to crank 2nd try she was running and sounding great even without timing or any carb adjustment. Amazing!!! It sounds great with the Flowmasters on it, here is a little sample. My camera was almost dead but I got this much vid.
