What's this part ?

There is one of these on each side of my Frame but I don't see a function for it. Any ideas ?

In case the spring breaks, and they do break occasionally, that you don't lose your steering also.

Re: What's this part ?

I've never seen this on both sides, only driver side. The drive side front mount should also have a strap welded across the front

Re: What's this part ?

If you have factory front springs, it's OK to leave this in place.
If you have lift springs it needs to be removed or it will severely limit rearward movement of the spring.
The factory springs have a negative to relatively flat arch to them, when the spring compresses the shackle moves forward,
a lift spring has positive arch so when it compresses, the shackle moves rearward.

My K10 had one on each side with stock springs, and when I installed 2" lift springs I had to remove both because they were hitting.
