Bikini Top update

Tony P emailed me and said the guy who was making the bikini tops last year is willing to make more. He said I could use the order form from last year. I saved it on my computer so I can email it to anyone who is interested. You can send me your email address through PM and I can email the form to you. I don't know any other way to do it. Let me know, spring is near.

Did he quote you a price?

Please email the form to me at 1971k5@gmail.com

It is about that time. Thanks!

Tony said the price is the same as last year. The prices vary from $100 to $130 ($20 shipping charge included) depending on fabric type and whether you want him to send you a snap kit.

I'm just forwarding the order form. I believe a couple of guys had one made last year and they said they were very happy with it. Maybe they'll post and vouch for this.

I am sure it won't be a problem working with the cage I just installed?

That is a VERY reasonable price, and I did get the order form, thanks.

According to the order form, you can either attach it with snaps all the way across the windshield frame, or you need to have an attachment similar to the one for the fastrac. I bought the one for the fastrac from Specialty Top and it was about $10 including shipping.

Glad he is still willing to make them - let me assure you he did a great job - I got mine but have not installed it as the K5 is in limbo right now.

I have pics of the prototype on tonyp's vehicle along with the order form if anyone needs it.

Oh and Redz - you give him measurements related to your specific bar so it is made to fit your vehicle - that is why I couldn't interest any of the big companies, they said there were too many variations on the roll bars.

Yup I have one too. and I too have not installed it yet as my K5 has been getting a heart transplant for the last year( just started the BBC on Saturday). But i have 'test fit' the top and it's gonna fit great. I simply need to install the snaps into the top in the same location as the snaps in my window frame from my Kayline soft top.

I'll try to get a pic of the fastrac attaching thing. If you need an order form, PM me and give me your email address and I'll send it to you.

I bought the fastrac attachment strip because I plan to buy a fastrac top. It is strip of aluminum with a gutter on it that the front of the fastrac top can attach to. I'll try to snap a pic of that piece tonight so you can see what I'm talking about.

Bikini Top ??

So is this the setup you get to use during the summer when you take the hardtop off, incase you get caught in the rain? I just bought my Blazer last Nov, and haven't taken the top off yet. I would like to take it camping during the summer, but wondered what to get to use.

Luv - looks like screws. Didn't come with them, but it came with the holes.

Ktear - Specialty Top Company makes a soft top called the fastrac that many people are going with. I plan to buy a fastrac for rains and get the bikini top made to keep shade on the driver and passenger. I suppose it would protect you from rains, but it only covers the front seats. The back would get soaked.

It is not vinyl, it is "Sunbrella" material, just like the tops on boats and awnings and outdoor umbrellas. Goto google and find the Sunbrella web site and see the material used.
I got the single layer in a dark green.

My top will be on order within the week. Guy lives pretty close to me, so I can go rough him up if it doesn't turn out perfect.
