Victory red paint?

Hi everyone, it's time to do some rust repair on my 2012 GMC truck painted victory red. My bedsides need a little work. Has anyone had any luck ordering paint online and getting a good match with victory red? I saw that the restoration shop sells a victory red in a single stage it bc/cc.

You are likely going to need to have something mixed for you. Your paint is ~10 years old and wont match even the factory paint.

I hadn't considered that, thank you!

Re: Victory red paint?

Find a paint store that has a spectrophotometer...they can match what you have

Re: Victory red paint?

I would take the truck to a local body shop. They paint match day in and day out. Have them look at it and the do a couple spray outs. I'm sure they would sell enough paint to get the job done. They can also sell you the correct primer, reducer and hardener to match the paint. Body shops have all this stuff in "bulk" so you won't to buy more than you need.

Re: Victory red paint?

I have been building wrecks since 1987 and mainly GM trucks. I have sprayed patches and odd panels on over a hundred red trucks I'd say and most of the time it is super close with the standard match. I do have my paint person use her profit machine[take a digital pic and converts it to a mix formula. Your gonna need to blend around the edges of the repair of course and that will help you on the match. Good luck. Jim
