Hole for tow hooks?

I have a set of extreme bend tow hooks that I want to put on my 72 Cheyenne30 Super; but my frame does not have the holes to mount them up.
Question is- How do you determine where to drill the holes for mounting.
Is there a template available?
If anyone has done this I would sure aprreciate some input.
Thanks
Ron

Re: Hole for tow hooks?

This is the best I have seen for reference.
Maybe someone can do a template for you, and if someone does that then let me know. Since I'd want a template as well.

I have a bare frame out behind the shop...if you can give me a few days for the snow to melt I can make you a template and mail it to you?

Re: Hole for tow hooks?

I just happen to be in that area of my build, could take some diagonal measurements for you

Re: Hole for tow hooks?

Blazerman-I sure can relate to the snow problem; only 100 miles east of you.
I'm never in a big hurry for much of anything. A template would be great, and if there was anyway to post on board for all to see, I am sure there are others wanting it.
jaros44sr- Some measurements would be great. Maybe could measure off of front hole that is for bumper mount bracket. And them somehow triagulate off of the 4 rivets that hold the mount bracket for the radiator support.
Thanks to both of you.
Ron

Re: Hole for tow hooks?

There`s real not much choice. They barely fit.I`ll measure mine when it`s light out. That template is a great move.

Re: Hole for tow hooks?

here's some pics....if you need more just ask. Dimensions were taken at outside of each hole, so to get center, you will have to add .330 since the hole size for the tow hook mounting hole is .660

Good pics and measurements.

Alright, I'll try and come off a rivet, but it will be harder to find center of the rivet

Re: Hole for tow hooks?

Ron, I have a template out in the shop that Rob (Blazerman) sent me awhile back. I will retrace on a piece of thick paper and put it in the mail for ya. Send me a pm on your address and I will try and remind myself to get it out on Monday.

Either that, or just send me the hooks and I will put them on a frame with the holes

Re: Hole for tow hooks?

Nice try Trevor?
You'd really be jealous if you knew what I paid for them extreme bend hooks?
I'll send you my mailing address and it will save Blazerman from having to go out in the snow.Between that and the measurements from jaros44sr I might just get them holes drilled yet.

Re: Hole for tow hooks?

Ron, if you paid more than $45 for a set of extreme bends, I have you beat. Though I have picked up 2 sets of 69-72 for $20 before. Trevor
