Re: '71 BB 402 help!

hi,it's an old "Prestolite" tune-up specs book i got a 100 years ago,1960-1977 on the cover.seems to me it was in a tune-up cabinet full of Prestolite parts that a salesman from one of the suppliers was selling when i worked at a service station a long time ago.somehow i hung onto this book and it's saved my bacon many times.it's full of good info.i remember the cover was bright yellow when i first got it.faded away now.take care.Greg

Right out of the 1972 Service Manual;

Sometimes I get lucky and find additional information in GM Heritage Center Documents;

https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-...brochures.html

This link may have what you were looking for.
I found it under Vehicle information kits on the GM site;
https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf

Weird stuff in the documentation. Like a 1/2T truck has a 20gal fuel tank and 3/4T and up had a 21gal tank.
GM documentation also lists the exhaust as single aluminized. Which I find difficult to believe. Process must have gotten a lot better in later years.
