Re: Alternator Amperage

It should be stamped on the Alternator housing.

Re: Alternator Amperage

According to the 84 factory service manual, it looks like a 37 amp 10SI alternator (#1100203) would have been stock equipment on your truck.

A 66 amp 12SI alternator (#1100209) is listed as option K81 ... and I think those may have been standard equipment on trucks with A/C.

The 10SI and 12SI alternators look quite similar but you can usually tell them apart by the design of the cooling fan. Some more info and pics here --> http://www.madelectrical.com/electri...elcoremy.shtml

Go big or go home. Everything is bigger in Texas.

How about something like this --> http://delcoremy.com/Alternator-Mode...lternator.aspx You think 430 A would be big enough?
