All I know is those are made just like the Eaton HO72, uses the same bearings, seals, etc except the axle shafts are different.

Re: eaton napco one ton front end???????????????????????????

thanks guys. sorry im not interested in selling the front end. the gears are 5.13. i have a matching rear axle. these axles are going under a 69 wrecker equiped with the holms 500 twin boom 10 ton winch. the steering in the original cross stearing that the front clip that the ho72 front end used originaly. and a power 2wd box from a 78 1 ton. it will be the one that gm should have built but a clone of a napco. it is also getting a 292 l6 with a 465/205. i am putting 73 front springs to try and get a better ride. if anyone has pictures of any 1 ton 4x4s done up by napco please post

Hi, the Napco web site (Napco Owner's Group) has a gallery of pictures and several large 1-ton series trucks and info on them, plus you can contact the owners and get info from them. Like Special-K said, years ago it was a matter of physically going from one local junk yard to the next, now with the internet you can get all the info you need while you're drinking your coffee (or whatever).

Re: eaton napco one ton front end???????????????????????????

Special-K, yeah... 55 second series. I have a 66 K-10 short fleet that I restored 15 years ago and wasn't looking for another project, but I couldn't turn down the opportunity to get an original Napco. It's in surprisingly good shape, frame is straight, very little rust. It's been hacked over the years, but it's a great restoration candidate. I'll drop a progress pic now and then over the coming months as I tear in to it.

Re: eaton napco one ton front end???????????????????????????

I'll be posting pics as the restoration progresses, right now I'm scrambling to get a shop set up, hope to tear in to it next week. The first thing will be to sort out the engine serial number and find out if it's original... fat chance, but then my 66 K-10 still has the original 283, so I'm hoping. Film at eleven.
