Little out of my price range too. Iwonder how hard it would be to put a SWB on one of these trucks (88-98) bodystyle?

depends how well you can weld its not hard at all if you have a way to cut the frame and shorten it. the frame may be a straigh fram not curved like the 67-72 1ton trucks so it may be easy and all you have to do is cut some off from the back.

how many did they make - i have a 99 short bed crew 4x4? is it something to hold onto or would it be worth more than the long beds?

From what I understand they only made the SWB crew cabs in 99-00. Now I think that is just the 2wd's though.

no welding necessary. the frame is not straight, it dips down under the cab just like the rest of them. you should be able to knock the rivets out of the hangers and move them forward, along with the rest of the crossmembers. 7/16" grade 8 bolts work great for replacing all the factory rivets.

they made 4x4's in 99-00 in a swb

here is a pic of my 99 - it is 4x4 - i have owned it for 6 years

the only problem i have with the swb is it has a much smaller tank than you would expect - 21 gallons - other than that she has been great, 148 000 miles and no major issues. the brakes are lacking from the factory and i am waiting to retrofit a 1 ton hydroboost system if it will work with the ABS

bought in 02 - replaced alt 04, water pump07, intake gasket 05, master cylinder 04, and ac 07

picture is kinda dark -

Re: WTB: 90's Crew Cab 2500 SWB

They also made crew cabs in long bed form as well..... My buddy has a 99 K2500 crew cab LWB.

The same guy has a 94 Crew Cab Dually project for sale if anyone is interested in a project truck.

Waht little i know about it is that it *was* on bags. All bags and lines have been removed. Brackets still in place. Truck is white with red interior. No motor but trans is still there. Has some chrome aftermarket wheels that need some TLC to be presentable.

He also has access to a good SWB bed. He bought the truck with the intentions of doing a SWB conversion but he simply has too many irons in the fire.

PM me for contact info.

I have NO IDEA what he wants $$ for it.
