Another 2wd conversion question

So, i am picking up a 4X4 K5 with no motor or trans.

i found a 2wd blazer frame for 500 bucks but it needs new leaf springs, needs 2 new body mounts and front bumper horns have been cut off but comes with new ones.

Question to you guys is what is easier use the 4X4 frame and convert to 2WD or put the 4X4 body on the 2WD frame?

i have access to a 2 post lift but trying to decided what way to go.

Re: Another 2wd conversion question

Personally I'd use the 2wd frame and do the repairs.

Go with the 2wd frame, assuming its straight.

X3. Swap body onto 2 wheel drive frame and sell the 4x4 frame to someone who could use it. Give life to another 4x4.

Re: Another 2wd conversion question

Ive done it.
It is a lot of work but totally do able.
Our '82 2wd frame was toast
Finding a 2 year 2wd frame was proving to be a hassle.
Picked up a 83 4x4 frame and swapped it.

People say the steering box angle is different... Ours was same.
The rear spring hangers are different as well.
