Re: Project-GMC Slant Nose

Getting the frame, back of the cab and front of the bed ready for paint. Previously applyied POR-15 on parts of the rear frame, need something with UV portection.
Had to change the gear oil due to not knowing when it was last change.
Preventive maintance. Rear brakes are next to check.

Actually the 350 engine has been tore down to the short block and is sitting on an engine stand. Now I have two. Thinking about taking the tune port out of my green truck and installing it in this one for the time being. Trying to have it running for Del Mar GoodGuys.

Re: Project-GMC Slant Nose

My replacement cab with bedliner sprayed inside and under the cab. The frontend striped down and ready for paint. The old cab and the reason for the change, rust.

Re: Project-GMC Slant Nose

Vince,

I like your wooden stand for the cab. I've got my cab up on saw horses which works but it's a little high for working in the cab...good for the firewall and cab corners though.

keep up the good work!

Jeff in Long Beach.

Thanks Jeff, the stand I made from looking at others on the board and copying from them. I should have raised the bottom horizontal 2x4 higher to get my engine hoist under there so I could lift the cab. Now I have to use human lift power times 4 to get it on my frame.

Re: Project-GMC Slant Nose

This is where im at now. Frontend is done, while I wait to prime my cab and paint my cab im going to detail my engine. 91 305 was a Tunned Port injection until I swaped a intake and carb. Going to add a cam to give it a little grunt but keep it dependable. Painted my brakelines red cause I was bored and wanted to see what they would look like.
Also want to install the Cal Custom Valve Covers but need some kind of adapter from center bolt to outside bolt.
