Fender Emblem help

Hey everyone Im alittle new to the scene and have some questions. Im rebuilding my 1970 c/10 swb and im looking at emblems. I really like the 67-68 emblems to me there is just more character in them. Is it really terrible if I put 67-68 badges and side trim on a 70 model pick up? Would love to hear your opinons and reasons thanks in advance.

Re: Fender Emblem help

Ha! Just kidding, just wanted to welcome you in grand fashion. As you may realize - 67-8 were red bow ties, 69-72 blue, then gold afterward. If it's gonna be kept original, of course don't do that - but if it's not, all bets are off and you should do whatever you like, it's your truck! Which fender emblems are you referring to? The 10/20/30 callouts I assume? Personally, I'd stick with what papa GM installed ad the factory. If/when you ever sell it, it will be a question-generator and I'm not sure they use the same hole spacing for mounting (they might, don't know).

Blasphemy

Just kidding, do what you want. Heck, you see a lot of deluxe marker lenses that aren't supposed to be there either.........Just be sure that's where you want to go.

Re: Fender Emblem help

You could always clip the truck and make it look like a 68. Later G-van marker too! :-)

Re: Fender Emblem help

I had a plan to put a 68 fender emblem on my 69. I planned on painting the red bowtie blue. I even bought the badges and everything. the only problem was, the holes were already in my fenders and the spacing is different between the mounting pins on the 67-68 and 69-72 badges/fenders. So, I reluctantly stuck with the C/10 emblem. I have a K/10 and appearance wise from the outside, it's not a custom/10. So, I didn't want to use that badge either. And there was never no such thing as a K/10 fender badge. So, yeah, I think it would look great, just be aware, that you may have to fill a fender hole or two to make it work.
