I believe the Suburban and the longhorn pickup frames are a match. The regular frame should be a little short. Is anyone sure?

burb frame

Suburban frames and Long bed pickup frames have the same wheel base (127"). Longhorns frames are (133")
However, burbs & long bed frames are not the same, different body mounts,
and at the very rear the frame is different.

On the 67-72 page, there is a thread. The difference is that the sub frame is 12.56 inches longer than the LWB frame. Both have same wheebase, 127 inches. The Longhorn wheelbase is 133 inches. Mounts are different, according to Rod, a moderator.

I understand that the burb frame and truck frames are actually shaped different in the back, I believe the burb frame curves a little.

this is from a hitch place, who just happened to have the old 72 truck hitch in stock, but didn't have the burb one. When I inquired whethor or not the truck one would work...they didn't know...finnally an older guy came back from lunch (like in his sixteys..) and said that def. no the truck one wouldn't fit......and told me why (which i promtly forgot)..btw the hitch he had for the trucks was an original...been in stock for 25years...............this was about 5 years ago.

Hi Super K
I just noticed in your post that your my neighbor. It seems that you are very interested in 4WD. I found on the "Trader online" site a 71 4x4 just south of Philly, (about 2hrs from you) a good running 4wd with minor rust and alot of extra parts for $1800. I have been wrestling with the idea of purchase, but I'm just bursting with junk.
it just might be worth it to you for the money,to save alot of the work it looks like you are about to try to take on.??? Nice guy, maybe you should give him a call. The Ph# is on the site.

John
