When installing new brake hoses, should you use anything -- antiseize, loctite, something else -- on the threads? Thanks..

Re: Another dumb brake Q
They do go together dry. The only stupid or dumb questions are the ones that are left unasked. I mean we all started to learn somewhere and how else do you learn ecept asking? do it wrong on something like brakes/suspension and it could be ugly. Do it wrong to a tune up and your just in the driveway with a ill running truck. So I don't think that anyone asks a stipid or dumb question if they are seeking an answer

Re: Another dumb brake Q
++ Don't use anything on the lines.
I use a dab of anti-seize on the bleeder screw.

Thanks, all! Good tip on the bleeders too. I am just now installing the driver's side front hose..... pass. side looks to be a bit tighter access, I'm doing the easy side first so I'll know exactly how things fit together.

Re: Another dumb brake Q
The manufacturer (and most mechanics) never use anti-seize anywhere because it's extra work, messy, and they don't care about your "next time". I use anti-seize on any chassis bolt I want to come off and still use again. Brake lines usually seize at the line and fitting,so I slide the fitting back and get it worked in there good, too.
