AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! At least it was just the door for the most part....get a bunch of $$$ off of her, and make her pay for the restoration! LOL

Glad to see that it wasn't more serious.

Sorry to hear your truck got damaged. One thing though is be prepared for the insurance company to just fix the damage as the door is not damaged beyond repair.

As long as they replace the whole skin, and not bondo...that'd be cool.
Besides, they can not require him to go to a body shop at all. (at least in my state and texas...I think it is pretty much across the states)

That does suck....hopefully it ain't your fault. I would find the most expensive door and rockers i can (proably through LMC), then buy a used door and a new rocker . You may have a little money left over in the end.

No respectable body shop would fix that door.

Definetly go through the insurance so you get what's owed to you. Get at least 2 estimates from "good" body shops in your area. I bet you'll be surprised at the damage amount! I got a check for $1045 last year when a lady hit and ran my '69. She took out the front bumper, pass fender and mashed the corner of the grill surround. It took a week to find her but I got her!

My truck came out alot better in the process. I bought all the new parts and even treated it to new inner fender wells and a new dash pad too! I even had some $ left over for a few goodies on my Chevelle.

Now if someone would rear end me I can get that new bumper I desperately need! LOL

In Washington state there are a few laws insurance companies DO NOT want you to know about, not sure about other states, but might be worth checking.

#1- You have right to have ANY shop do the work, and insurance must pay to fix it, providing it is cheaper to fix than total the vehicle. You do not have to go to "their" shops as they will tell you.

#2- If when the vehicle is repaired, it has less value than before the accident, somebody owes you money. (Decleration of value is name of law I believe, copy is sitting at work). Either the insurance company or body shop or both.

I had a small incident once with my 63 Nova. Lady rearended me, put a dent in my bumper, nothing big but it was there.

I got quotes from 5 DEALERS. I then took the highest one, and sent to insurance. Guy called started giving me the story about needing more, etc. I then told him I knew about law of going ANYWHERE, etc.... His next statement was, I will have a check in the mail.
