Emergency brake cable

Need to replace my old cable, but can’t find or
( it’s a fact that I can’t figure out) which cable to look for.
On the picture the cable fits the assembly like it should.
What replace cable do I need? Where could I find it?o

Re: Emergency brake cable

Check with LMC Truck. It's the front parking brake cable. They have them in stock.

Re: Emergency brake cable

You’d think for a lot less that 97 usd you could get one made in the right length.
There’s gotta be an aircraft supply business near you. Or a bicycle shop. They have similar cables.

As for the total cost being so high, try living across the border and still paying double the price. That’s what it costs me here in Canada.
Normally I just double the price and that’s what I’ll pay in Canadian money.
Your 24usd cable would cost me about 50 Canadian bucks.

Re: Emergency brake cable

It’s just what it is!
Sometimes you end up building your own stuff.
I talked to a guy at a local bike store once. I needed a bellcrank for a custom carb linkage.
We got talking about cables. He said he could make me any cable in the size and configuration I wanted.
Check out your local cycle shops. They might have a solution for you.

Re: Emergency brake cable

I purchased mine from https://www.inlinetube.com
The price is $55.
It was an exact duplicate. Included the rubber grommet and the rubber sheild where the cable rubs on the inner fender. Also included the straps to bolt it down to the fender. It did have an incorrect yolk pin diameter but that was a simple thing to drill out to 3/8 from 5/16. I's possible that detail has been fixed by now.

You can also get a complete set of cables and retainers from them from $169. Much of the time the lower cables are sticky. I would be confirm they are not the culprit on a sticky Ebrake.
I used to drive these truck daily and it our wet NW (Washington) weather they were often bad/sticky. Easy to tell, just unhook the front cable and individually pull on each rear cable with a pliers. The cable should return on it's own.

An we complain about taxes. LOL.
