1965 Core Support Removal

I am 16 years old, this is my first vehicle/build, and my dad and i can't get the core support out. We took the two bolts holding it on the frame out and expected it to just pull out. But that didn't happen. Any answers would be very helpful.

pics?

There's only two bolts holding it to the frame.
If you've already removed the nuts, try wiggling it loose.

....assuming that you have already removed the hardware that ties it to the inner fender panels. Pics would indeed be helpful.

did you take out the BOLTS or just take the lower nuts off? Because mine was definitely seized and we had to get on top and back the bolts out and beat the crap out of the bushings because everything was seized.

Re: 1965 Core Support Removal

Thanks for the advice, this will definitely be helpful. We have already removed he inner and outer fenders so it should be only those two bolts. We've tried wiggling it, shaking it, pulling on it, and it won't budge. We only got around to taking the nuts off and assumed that it would just pull out so it might be seized. I will try and get pics up tomorrow.

yeah take a floor jack and get it under the bolt sticking out, and then jack it up using the weight of the truck to get it loose.

Re: 1965 Core Support Removal

I've pulled a few of these, and had one I finally gave up on and burned out the bushing with a torch. I jacked it up, beat on it, you name it. Sometimes you just can't get it done without the old flame-wrench...

Re: 1965 Core Support Removal

Thanks, we will definitely try to use the floor jack idea today possibly. We also tried to burn out the bushings, but wihout a decent sized torch it wasn't doing anything.
