Park Lights

Just picked up another 72 lwb 2wd truck. Put a new battery in it (man batteries are getting expensive!) and tried all the electrics on the truck. The headlights, all 4 blinkers, brake lights, wipers, and radio work. All the fuzes are good too. I have no park lights though. Not one! I'm going to replace the headlight switch and see if that fixes it. Any other ideas as to what it could be? I guess anything is possible but I just can't imagine all the park light bulbs are blown.

Re: Park Lights

Could be wiring harness, or at least that was the problem on mine.

Re: Park Lights

The park lights share the same fuse as the dome and brake lights so if those work it rules out the fuse, check the orange wire at the headlight switch (supply for park lights) for power.

Thanks fixit, I'll try that tomorrow and post up my findings.

Re: Park Lights

Ok, here's the scoop. It must have been something to do with that orange wire. After playing with it the lights started working. I went ahead and changed the headlight switch anyway though. There was one burned out bulb, one corroded socket, and one missing socket. Fix two out of the three but now I need to find a sidemarker socket and replace it on the right rear. Then all my lights will work.
