Z49??

Here's one for the experts. I did a VIN search through GM Canada and my 72 K5 has this option. Z49 - Mandatory Canadian Base Equipment Modifications. Anybody know what this is? I'm assuming any truck sold in Canada has this option. Not that it really matters, my K5 is far from original, just curious.

Re: Z49??

My speedo is in miles, every vehicle in Canada was in miles before about 77'. I did have a block heater though.

Re: Z49??

i spoke with GM parts tech and there is no set modaficaton with that rpo it just means that the vehichle meets canadin build standards as far as chemicals in paint and oils and lubrcations used to be sold in canada if you have a newer GM built after 90 check and see if option code is on that vehicle as well if you give me the last 8 of the vin i can input it on my computer and check cause the rpo code is supose to be valid up to 2020

Re: Z49??

The '72 is the newest vehicle I own, so I have no other VIN's to compare with.
