'71-'72 control arm bushing replacement

I am getting ready to install new upper and lower control arm shafts and bushings on my '71 2wd Blazer. Does anyone have any helpful hints or tools to make removal or the install any easier? Let me hear the good, the bad, and the ugly. I just don't want to mess things up. Any pics would be great. Also,... should I wait and paint after, or before? Just wondered how you guys that powder coated, did it. Thanks,... lolife.

Check page 3 of the FAQ page. There are a couple of post by ebfabman on this subject. One of the posts is missing pics but if your lucky someone may still have them saved and be willing to repost. A 3/4 drive socket set, long cheater pipe and a BFH are helpfull. I painted and then reassembled.
