L6 250 12bolt valve cover

Okay has anybody had any issues sealing up the valve cover on this?
I have a new one and I cannot seem to get it to seal up.

what bolts do you use, what style gasket do you use.
thanks ahead of time.

Also for those of you who use heated intake manifold how do you guys run your hoses to the heater?

Stock valve cover? flange on the cover flat and straight? type of gasket--(rubber, cork, rubberized cork)? bolt spreaders? any sealant?

I'd lay a straight edge on it to verify flatness then use a cork gasket. If you have an '' inch pound torque wrench '' I'd take em to about 110

With whatever gasket I use silicone on both sides and put the bolts in finger tight. Next day I snug the bolts up about another 1/2 turn. It works this way without a gasket too.

Re: L6 250 12bolt valve cover

Silicone both sides will make it hard to remove the valve cover when that next comes due

Usually place silicone on 1 side to hold the gasket in place when installed
Use a nice thin layer of silicone as well excess will get pushed out and can find its way to plug up things like oil pickup screens

Re: L6 250 12bolt valve cover

Did you email Tom Lowe, the guy who owns 12Bolt?
He may have some suggestion. Some of those valve covers are extra tall to have room for roller rockers.
