Thanks. I really wanted to keep the blue & white truck. My friend has it, took it down to the frame, has had all the paint and body work done, and all that still sits at the body shop down the road from him under plastic. I don't know what the arrangement is but the guy must have a lot of space and Jason must really trust him. The chassis sits untouched in a bay in his shop. It's not like he doesn't get things built. He's done several since he started that. He also has an original paint (patina) stock looking '70 K/20 Custom he is 99% done with but hadn't touched in the two years since I had been up there, till a couple weeks ago. That thing has a rebuilt engine, seat covered original, rear tank, 1t axles all redone. Just needs the interior put back together. I figured that was his driver and the blue and white one a total perfection restoration. I don't know what his plan is, but I'm pretty sure both of those are keepers and he just keeps on playing with other stuff. He had three squarebody K/30 cab & chassis trucks sitting there a couple weeks ago. I'll pick his brain at Carlisle in a couple weeks. We'll be sharing spaces

tell your friend to mind his own business that’s been a great truck. Rode hard and put away wet everyday. 125,000 in less than 4 years. Only thing it’s had done are oil changes 5-6 sets of tires, and front brakes. It’s still got the original battery in it even. I like that generation of GM trucks pretty well, certain exterior cues like the Chevy front end remind me of the 88-98’s. I’ve had tire chains on all four corners slingin mud from bar ditch to bar ditch more than a handful of times. I’ve also towed a few things, ahem, like the picture above that were way over what I probably should have.

I’m moving into a crew cab short bed ‘22 2500 any day now as soon as the dealer gets it in. I don’t like the current trucks near as much as the older generation. None of the new ones compare to the old ones though.

I'm surprised they got you a shortbed. When did cab space become more important than cargo space on a work truck? I see it all the time, don't get it. Give me a regular cab and let the bed take up the rest of the space. I never wanted a truck any longer than it had to be. These days you see one guy working out of a "crew" cab with 3/4s of a bed, and that means wimpy pipe racks, too

Back to pics. Both trucks sitting in about the same spot. The GMC was later. Looks like that barn roof got painted

Re: Random pictures you took of your K

I was supposed to get a crew long but long story short the gm (sure do miss GM) fleet program is lacking majorly right now. They were going to be mid fall for a crew long so my boss asked me if I could make a short bed work. I’m a supervisor now so I don’t have as much need for tanks tools as I used to. The crew makes hauling guys and my family around was easier too. I’ll probably just put a headache rack with a belly pan and compressor mounted up front with a couple side boxes on top of the bed sides and then see what else I need from their. The new truck has a 10,600 GVW, pretty crazy for a 3/4 ton. Back to dot fleet regulations unfortunately since it’s over 10,001.

This one is under the knife right now getting a bit of gender reassignment surgery C to K swap.
Haven’t decided which axles I want to run for sure yet. I’ve got several sets to choose from.

Re: Random pictures you took of your K

Oh I almost forgot ... This is the last of my K trucks (that I remember lol) I didnt have it for super long because it ate the engine. But I will say I really liked it and it rode much nicer than my other K trucks. I think it was a 73. The guy I sold it to still has it sitting where he parked it when he bought from me way back when.
