72 cst drivers door trim

on my 72 cst k5 the trim on the drivers door has come undone on the two middle connection points, the ends are in good shape, my question is when i pry the trim back to look down into it it looks like some type of tape was used and now these 2 points have all kinds of little pebbles stuck to the tape and now it flops in the wind and i'm worried i'll loose it going down the road, any suggestions on what i should put back in these 2 center spots when i fix it, is there something i can buy at an auto store and is this tape stuff original or was there a clip there originally [the 2 outer ones have a clip], any suggestions would be great i got to get it fixed before it blows off, also could i just stuff something down there or do i need to remove the inside panel and take it off from the inside out. thanks brody p.

Go to the parts store and get some 3m double faced tape. Should be a 3/8 nut on both ends of the door to take the trim off. You will find plastic clips that (if not broken) snap into the mldg and stick to the door. Just clean up the old clips of the old tape, and apply the new. Make sure you put it in the right location cuz that stuff sticks. Oh yeah, shouldn't have to take the door panel off.
