Re: 1967 buick special wagon
2 down, 2 more to go. I definitely love the look now, seeing both of them on the car.

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
Since the pontiac came with 8 matching full size rims, I figured I could polish and paint one up to match the other wheels

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
Finally got my exhaust tips in. Using a 3"x1.5" length of pipe to space the tips evenly. I also like how the angle of the tips matches the roll pan angle.

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
I installed the heat shields that go on above the mufflers. I cut the twin exhaust tips off the corsa mufflers and welded on v-clamps so I can remove the exhaust tips in the future if needed. I installed and welded the mufflers in place. I still have to figure out the mounting of the quarters and lower valance before I can finalize the placement of the exhaust tips and the pipes that will connect them to the mufflers, but it's still progress

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
I drove it for the first time since the body swap began, only from the big shop to the little garage so I could use the lift. But I love the stance.

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
I got started on mounting the bracket for the side skirts. Had to grind all the plug welds smooth so the skirt bracket would mount flat against the rocker panel. I drilled a few mount holes and installed some riv-nuts. I painted the bare metal with chassis paint and mounted the skirt mount bracket.

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
I installed the driver's side skirt and I'm very happy with the fit. The top wobbles a little, so I'll probably modify the top of the skirt bracket to fix that

Yeah, the stance is spot on, in my opinion!

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
I finished mounting the passenger side skirt and pulled it out for better pictures. I also checked the clearance going into and out of my drive way and I've got about 1.5 inches at the front and 3 inches at the rear, so I don't need to adjust the ride height

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
Wiring up the lights. The brake lights aren't working for some reason (probably a fuse), but here's the tail light, side turn signal I'll mount in the chrome fender vent and the parking lights and low beams.

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
I finished wiring up the front lights. There's parking lights, low beams (all 4), low beams with fog lights, high beams and parking with turn signals lit up. I'll probably have to disconnect the inner low beams because these lights are already pretty bright and I don't want to blind oncoming traffic.

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
I finished wiring up the tail lights. Here's the tail, brake, turn and reverse lights all in one housing. I still have to connect the tag lights and mount the third brake light, but I'm happy with my progress.

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
Now that all the lights are working, I ordered slotted and drilled rotors with ceramic brake pads. I cleaned up the brake calipers and brackets and decided to paint everything aluminum silver instead of the traditional hotrod red.

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
Front brake parts came in, so I threw those on really quick. Threw the spare on just for a picture.

Re: 1967 buick special wagon
I removed the transmission cooler and filled it with trans fluid and re-installed it so i wouldn't have to top off the trans (it's a 2 person job) . I used a length of angle iron with some riv-nuts to mount across the back of the bumper where the air dam mounts. I made a pair of drop down brackets to secure the bottom of the cooler. Then I painted everything black
