Cliff I have taken many long distance trips on 22's. I have 22's on my wifes Denali that she drives daily. If your concerned about comfort or safety what you need to factor in is sidewall profile.

If your running a super low profile sidewall, it will be firm no matter what the rim size. I see kids in import cars running 25 series tires on 17" and 18" rims. You just know that rides rough, but they feel it looks cool and are willing to ignore the ride.

Yeah this was a 3/4 drop, it's going down another 2-3 inches or so. I'll have to see how low it goes and posibly adjust. I had to take the spacer out of the front to get the wheel and tire to tuck inside the fender. The truck has to be practical enough to drive. I've had a truck that was too low and couldnt hardly drive, not going down that road again.

How much is your truck lowered?
It looks good in silver/brushed face. If they were all chrome, I think it would be too much.

I agree, that is a beautiful truck! Is that a 4/6 drop?

Thanks! yeah, I didn't want to go all polished-a bit too blingy. I was a bit nervous about how it would turn out but the brushed spokes with the polished lip tones it down nicely.

I appreciate the compliment! Yes, it's a basic 4/6 drop with ECE components. It's 'everyday' practical but lowered enough to drive 'spiritedly'

Next question mac808 for the super clean ride...what's specs on the wheels and tires? That stance is perfect! Do they ever rub?

Appreciate the compliments. As for the wheel specs, they're Boyd's Spectrums - 22x8.5 front/22x10 rear.
As for rubbing, nope, none at all except for the front on extreme dips in the road. It has to be a fully compressed hit for it to touch, though. There's virtually no camber at all on the front so a slight bit of negative camber would take care of that issue, as well as enhance the handling a bit.

Sorry, it is beautiful. I forgot to mention it. If I were not bagged, that's the way I'd go.

Hahaha. And if I didn't have it static dropped, I'd have mine bagged too.

I love the look of your step 502ms. Patinas rock! It reminds me of this truck except for the glossy paint and the fleetside...

Thanks so much! Ironically, I am preferring the patina over the glossy, shiny. Over the last 3 days, I have had literally dozens of people taking pics and telling me how much they love the truck.
