Hope to see it out someday. Do you ever go up to the Hill Country Swap meet in Fredericksburg? It is the weekend of July 23-25th this year. I plan on having a spot to sell some stuff and possibly buy other stuff...LOL.

I took it out on Wortham bend today, it's a 65MPH road. Drove up and down to get a feel. Need an alignment, that happens Monday AM at China Spring Collision. The trans shifts just like advertised by Lonie at Extreme Transmissions, easy when your easy, put your foot in it and it's around 3-3500 RPM nice and firm Couldn't ask for more.

I tried to do a scrub line check on the rear so I laid some tape on the cement ran the rear tire over the end and pulled it over to the other side rim tight to see. Darn tape twisted but it's clear as far as a scrub line. I know the fronts clear as I had that moment previously.

To know if in the event of a tire failure there is no anchor point below the lip of the wheel that can make contact w/the roads surface.

Certain methods of lowering alter the scrub-line so when making changes you need to be aware.

If you loose a tire on a wheel - to see if your framework or suspension will not hit the pavement.

Having lost a wheel before I can get the idea here, problem is it looks like your ok if the tire goes flat and peels off rim but if studs fail (or someone steals your lug nuts like what happened to me) then the shock mount\U-bolt is going to become your skidplate.

You can plan for only so much.

One doesn't expect to lose the entire assembly & I don't think you can prevent something else under the chassis from becoming 'next in line' unless you build it for that failure.

Since you could see the long ends of the U-Bolts through my wheels , I trimmed them down with a 4.5" cutting wheel and painted the ends. Looks much better now.

So here is a pic from the rear to the front under the truck. Wonder if they make shock mounts that sit higher? Maybe I could swap them, but then I'd have to trim them. Probably just overthinking it in that regard.

Originally they were flipped vs. how they are oriented now. Thats one of the first low buck mods (flip the lowers upside-down & re-locating the upper mount position).

Theyre POL mounts, I had the originals when I got the truck.

I assumed they were aftermarket based off of their shape. The pre-67 lower brackets are beefier than the 67-72 brackets. That being said, you make some that keep the bottom of the shock flush w/the bottom of the T/A hardware if you're concerned.
