Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"

Ok as seems to be the norm with Boosted Bertha we must go forward to go backwards ! Every time I looked at the interior all I could think about was the guy that fell short on everthing that he promised.....so everything he did is now gone ! Starting over with a blank slate and headed to the amazing Phil Cato of Catos Custom Upholstery. So wanting to give him a blank canvas to work with I built the base for the stereo system, then I picked up a 60's car split back bench seat with fold down arm rest to start as the base for the custom seat. Finally she will have the interior she deserves !

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"

Really nice Mike .
I always preferred the look of a bench seat in these trucks . I will use my original bench seat, and fab a pull down arm rest in on a 40/60 split configuration .

OK so is all the old interior in the for sale section now? I loved how the interior was going and it would look good in my truck

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"

Ok here we go again the last few weeks have been insane , a lot going on with Slosh Tubz we worked our butts off getting ready for Lonestar Throwdown and had a very successful show selling a lot of product. One of the things that has been happening on the product side is an increase in sales and my current manufacturer was not willing to handle the extra volume so we have been looking for a new manufacturer, well we have found him and we are in the process of getting everything going with him. The new guy is bringing an insane amount of technology to the table as far as making the parts, stronger / lighter and smoother on the bottom side, we will also be able to offer a carbon fiber version for a very reasonable cost ! I have also brought the Slosh Panelz side up to date and am in the process of having everything lazer cut to end the headache of hand cutting all the panels. Needless to say the last few weeks has been crazy ! Good things are coming !

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"

OK, back to our normally scheduled program !

I sold all the interior that I didn't do out of Boosted Bertha and now I am getting all the basics ready to go to Catos Custom Upholstery where Phil Cato will be handling the complete interior....we are super excited about this !!

So I am starting with a split bench that my friend had in his ElCamino, not for sure if that's what it came with but here it is. I stripped it down , Sandblasted it and I am starting the conversion on it, it will end up slightly buddy bucket style when done.

Here is the initial test fit, I need to raise it about 2 inches and add a little to the top of the back seats

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"

Here is a little more seat progress, built new seat pans and a riser that bolts in the factory bolt locations . I still need to level out the seat backs (they are slanted in from the factory for some reason????) and build the center folding arm rest and lifting bottom to access the wiring .

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"

Next up is some more wiring work, my wiring guru Brock Payton has just about rewired the whole truck since we switched to the Holley Dominator EFI and switched interiors we have now moved almost everything. Here is a few pictures of the progress where we brought it in through the firewall and through the transmission hum. It is still a bit of a mess at the moment but when its done it will all be layed out as nice as possible and a cover built for it with an access panel on the cover that will be accessed from the tilt up seat bottom.

Also getting all that Kicker Audio wired up , cant wait to here this system. Small but clean system with a little bump !

Loving seeing all this stuff lit up again, here are the custom made headlights form hidprojectors.com !

The engine compartment lights are from Wurton lighting they are "pod lights" just the right amount of light to light up the engine compartment but not be overbearing.

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"

realy like how you put all the electronics under the middle of the seat
hadnt thought about using that space but there should be plenty and verry eazily accessable if you lift the middle seat

thinking about a glass dash for my project ........
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEUDa0Art4s
two or tree tft monitors some with thouchscreen for all the gauges navigation and other stuff
want to make it so the screens will hide behind a facia and the gauges will be visible through holes in said facia , that allso means that the whont be a lot of space behind the dash
this under the seat option solves that
