The transmission is painted. took longer than expected with 30 years of caked grease on it. next is to paint the engine block. Just need to get that power steering pulley off, so i need to rent a puller. great time to check my timing chain for slack! Name: IMG_0088.jpg

Re: 1987 chevy scottsdale 4x4 first project

Looks good! What size tank is that? I've been debating a blazer tank swap to get rid of my second transfer pump, and go with a quieter in-tank pump while I'm at it... I've been debating how to do the fuel fill, since I run a tonneau cover all winter, and use the bed a lot in the summer. I'd like to avoid the sheet metal work involved with another filler behind the rear wheel but I think it is necessary for my application.

Re: 1987 chevy scottsdale 4x4 first project

thanks chris.

its a 33 gallon suburban tank. i originally made a fuel filler that reached all the way to the rh stock filler location. but i ditched that because i was worried it would take longer to fill, you could go with the filler in one of the tail lamps theres a thread on here about it.
if you have any more questions about the swap ill be glad to help ya!
