I still love my old truck.

I've been on this forum for 8 years, about as long as I've had this current truck. These damn 60-66 trucks have been a part of my life since the 1960's.
It's funny, during the 80's, I didn't like the 67-72 trucks because they were too "modern" LOL. Now, I wish I had a really nice '67 to restore. Oh, well.
Anyway, My dad let me use a '64 C10 when I was in high school. Long bed, 3 on the tree, with factory air (in Arizona. Nice!) and a camper shell. Needless to say, the bed in the camper was used in my high school days. At the drive in. Rarely, but......
Not many high school kids had camper trucks in the '60s. It was very unique.
Since then, I've owned six other 60-66 Chevy trucks. This current one is a driver. It would work as a daily, even here in San Diego. I don't want to destroy it by commuting it everyday, though.
I can tell you this: These were DAMN GOOD trucks in their day. Toyota learned how to build decent vehicles from us, and these trucks are a great example.

Agreed. I miss my truck, it's only been in storage for a month!

Wasn't factory air started in 1965?

Re: I still love my old truck.

Mine is getting used a bit more now. It sure is a beast maneuvering it around in tight parking spots but still preferable to a Lexus LS460 RH drive that has been available to me. Without the PS tho the truck would be useless to me. Yeah, it sure brings a lot of people out of the woodwork to talk about it.

Re: I still love my old truck.

I've had mine for over 8 years now. I drive it at least 3 times a week typically, sometimes more. In the past two weeks, I'm fairly certain that I've driven over 500 miles. It's more fun to drive them!

Re: I still love my old truck.

Yeah, I built mine to drive it. Lots of fun and reminds me of my youth daily driving a 66 longbed 3/4. I was in construction and it was a workhorse.
