A little UnHappy with Brothers

After waiting over an hour to talk to someone at Brothers Truck about my order I was connected to a rather arrogant young man who told me my order won’t ship until Jan 2. He said they were on Back order. When I said “ your web site says “Only a few left” and that your invoice said you would not charge my card until they shipped but yet you Did charge my card. He said “ Don’t you know if it’s a PayPal deal THEY charge your card Not Us, like I was some kind of idiot. I politely said “ No I wasn’t aware of that, looks like a little information goes a long way, thank you. He then said again in his arrogant voice “Have a nice day Sir” and hung up. Hope he was just having a bad day and doesn’t always talk to customers spending over $500 with them like that

Thanks for letting me Vent

Never talked to anyone there but seems like everytime I order something from them it's on backorder . Happened at least 4 times so I just stopped

The next time you talk to them, and I'm sure you will, tell them you don't have to spend that kind of money to be so rudely talked to.

That's probably the route I would go, and I would let them know exactly why I'm canceling the order. I don't deal with rude people.

Your absolutely right. I don’t have to spend a dime to get talked to like that at Home. LOL. I understand the Back order thing it’s every where but that’s no reason not to be at lease cordial to a Customer

Re: A little UnHappy with Brothers

If you cancelled it wouldn't be about the backorder. Explain to them you are a grown man, meaning you are mature and can accept such disappointment. What you can't accept is being spoken to in a rude manner by another supposed grown man, and that is the reason for cancelling. You are a man of principles.

Re: A little UnHappy with Brothers

I always ask for the person’s name when I talk to customer service and will go out so my way to give the company both positive and negative feedback later. That way of you do cancel the order they know who is directly negatively impacting their business. It’s up to them at that point.

Re: A little UnHappy with Brothers

When I have customer service issues, especially with an individual, I call back and immediately ask to be moved to the person that is getting paid enough for the butt chewing I am about to give them. You would be surprised at how fast the conversation changes and / or how fast you get moved to a supervisor. The caveat these days, with most CS employees working from home, it is much more difficult to get transferred to a supervisor...but, still worth trying. IMHO.

Good luck.

Re: A little UnHappy with Brothers

There is no excuse for treating a customer like that. I don't care if you're spending a nickel or 500 bucks. It's that guys job to leave his bad attitude at the door when he's at work.

It sounds like you were civil. So he was way out of line.

I've heard a lot of bad reviews of Brothers and will never use them.

I had a similar experience with a backordered product. In August I ordered my wife some cookware for her birthday in October. It was over 1000 bucks. And I figured that I had plenty of time. But it never showed up. The only difference is that I called and the girl on the phone was very helpful. She explained that their supply chain had been interrupted by the virus and the manufacture is in France. And the color that I had ordered was a custom order. So. They were waiting the same as me. Okay. I can understand that. She offered me a refund or a different color. I was angry when I called but she really talked me down by just being honest and giving me the facts. And she sure didn't hang up on me. That's how it should be done.

I didn't choose a different color. My wife wants blue. So I'm still waiting. It's become a running joke around here that maybe we'll get them by 2023.

Re: A little UnHappy with Brothers

He must have run out of juice for his vape that morning. Good news is January 2nd isn't too far away. For what it's worth I met a couple young Brother's employees at their 2021 Show N Shine and they were both very nice. Both were saving money to buy old C10s and enjoyed working for Brother's. I had a similar issue with one of my orders, item said limited available but was back ordered. Customer service was polite when I called. My guess is the website doesn't actually track current inventory and needs to be updated manually.

Re: A little UnHappy with Brothers

I am tech support where I work and yes everyone has bad days and everyone has bad customers. I've broken a headset or 2 in my time (after the call is over). What I deal with though is fire alarm panel installation and programming so it's a little more important to get it right and sometimes very frustrating when you have someone on the phone who really needs to be doing some other job. But when you're done with that call you take a deep breath and move on to the next one.

There was no argument between him or I. It was simply his arrogance that got me. I thanked him for the info and he said have a nice day and hung up kind of abruptly.
I’ve worked many of my 67 years with John Q Public and understand exactly what your saying

Re: A little UnHappy with Brothers

I've never used LMC because I had always heard bad things about them. That seems to have changed. Now all I hear is good things about them. I'll try them. I always used The Truck Shop because they were close. But they had the same attitude as well. Friendly but arrogant. Like a snotty waiter when you ask for something and they say "yes sir' and roll their eyes.

I've never used Brothers either. I called them once and the guy on the phone was so rude that I hung up on him.

These people need to realize that they aren't the only game in town.

Almost everything I've done I've gotten through LMC. Never had any issues myself. Never dealt with Brothers but I've heard on here and elsewhere saying they were rude or just not friendly. Sounds like a trend. Hopefully someone above them notices. That new grille should be nice.

Re: A little UnHappy with Brothers

If you order from LMC you need to know your stuff because they never seem to. This is old info because that's how bad they turned me off. Been a very long time, and not because of their lack of knowledge. Hit or miss on quality and flat rate shipping charges based on cost of item was a scam. I bought a seat cover from them that was made of thin material and so small my upholstery fought it, had to cut and expand it, then not even charge me because he was disappointed in the results. Wasn't his fault, he's a stand-up top-notch guy is why... and we are friends. Twenty years ago it cost mt $50 shipping for a steering wheel because the amount they charges over what other vendors charged put it into the next flat-rate price. When it cracked in a few years and I sold it and I sold it, I paid 1/4 what they charged me to ship (they get deep discount, not me) out to CA
