Get a good inspection. Those vehicles near to the ocean eat parts like candy from the salt air! I know that you are ace at body work, so maybe that doesn't put you off.

It is indeed a nice looking truck, but not what I'm looking for.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

I would want to see the SPID before you make too many assumptions. While all kinds of alterations occur on these trucks happen over the years, keep in mind that Cheyenne Supers were not available with black vinyl door panels if they came with a bench seat. It's probably legit but I noticed the door panels, lack of bright tailgate handle, and no tell-tale holes where the original mirrors were mounted (indicating that at least some bodywork has taken place at some point). Door panels almost appear painted (a good sign) - and the bright slip-on tailgate handle covers on only the 72 Supers tend to disappear over the years - so, could be a great find and definitely worth checking out further.

Yeah I saw the SPID. It was real. And now it’s real gone my buddy was waiting on a callback and instead he got the “sorry it’s sold” message

Amazing how fast these trucks are selling. I am seeing so many nice one's I need to be careful and not watch them. LOL. I am relieved when I see them sold. I want to retire someday and another truck or 5 won't help me get there. LOL

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

Someone go buy this before I spend twice the asking price in gas to drive up there and get it...
Owatonnan Camper Shell $300
Apparently nobody in TX bought a camper shell in the 70's (or they love them so much they'll never sell)

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds Part 2

Interesting, does anyone know anything about C10 trucks made in Mexico?Check out the Instrument Cluster and all the other differences. The bed I wonder if this is all home brew or a foreign made C10 (minus the pic from the modern instrument cluster)

https://elpaso.craigslist.org/ctd/d/...185207377.html

Well I got to looking and yes this looks to be an original Mexican C10

That’s the real deal. I haven’t seen one restored. Pretty cool!

Looks like a decent deal. It's probably a lower mileage truck if the smog pump hasn't locked up yet.

At a minimum, the "upgrade" shrinks the potential buyer pool by at least 1... But I'd be willing to bet I'm not alone. It can also potentially shrink the price - i.e. it's a false assumption by sellers that they can get original Super money by slapping Super emblems on a truck (unless, of course, they're taking it to Barrett-Jackson). I'd submit that this seller would make more actual profit had he not lifted it, not added Super emblems, not added aftermarket wheels, etc and just sold it as it was, a Cheyenne K10 swb, a rare bird in its own right that buyers will pay top dollar for.

Again, don't get me wrong, this is clearly a very nice truck and my comment is meant to be more general in nature because we see all kinds of trim levels advertised as Supers these days, and there's nothing wrong with that (this seller clearly readily provided a SPID when asked) - but, in some cases, I think sellers are actually shrinking their buyer pool and hurting their profit margin by upgrading to a fake trim level. My 2 cents.

From looking at 1000's and 1000's of truck ads over many years I think the original unmolested or trucks with minimal cosmetic upgrades and safety features and like a 4 speed auto trans sell quicker and bring good money, especially the ones with the A/C stuff intact.Do you agree Mark ?
