Hybrid truck

I just dragged in an 06 former town truck that surprisingly enough is not in horrible shape . Only issue its a 5.3 motor with a Hybrid system in it
Any of you all ever deal with one of these? it allegedly doesnt run because the stator in the transmission is bad according to the town guy.. he said GM doesnt make the part anymore so they sold the truck.
Anyone every have one or have knowledge on the transmission? Anyone ever replace these transmissions? Also if there is any knowledge if i decide to part this puppy out, is there any differences wih the 5.3 motor or the transfer case if they were to be swapped into a different truck?
and lastly, if i were to convert this to a regular 4L80 trans what would i be looking at changing?

Re: Hybrid truck

This is what Clinebarger said on another website.

Quote:
It's a Hybrid albeit not a very good one. The Hybrid Truck/SUV GM rolled out in 2009 was light years better. I wouldn't recommend buying a '04-'07 GMT800 Hybrid unless it's so cheap & clean making removing the Hybrid crap worth it. Not really all that hard to do....You need a Trans Case, Pump, Torque Converter, Flexplate, Starter, Battery Cables, PCM, & Instrument Cluster out of a Non-Hybrid truck. Along with blocking the coolant ports for the Stator/Rotor & remove all the high voltage leads/batteries/modules.

Re: Hybrid truck

i mean if its just the trans car-part.com for a 4x4 unit looks like 500-1k for a used unit

Re: Hybrid truck

well for what the truck is worth , i kinda bought it for a parts truck.. i needed to swap hoods and grille bumpers tires and seat tracks i may just part it out or scrap as its not something that if i do all the work in retrospect thats going to have a return on investment.. Last thing i need is another truck
