Box has same part number as web site but it says aluminum
Nice looking part but Not what I ordered

Lost in translation! I have never seen a steel grill surround for a 1970 Chevrolet C-10

Besides it says guaranteed to fit not guaranteed to be steel

So I just got off the phone with them ( yes on Sunday 9am -9pm). Told the guy what happened. He set up a time for them to call me on Monday after they investigate what there web site says and what was sent.

Sheepdip - Yes they do make them LMC shows them but are out of stock. A Buddy of mine has one on his 70. It looks great ,feels great And yes a magnet sticks to it

I get your disappointment in the part being described one way and being something else. But, I'd rather have aluminum that doesn't rust. Look at the GMC grilles that are steel. Aluminum products usually cost more than steel and are considered an upgrade. If it is actually chrome plated aluminum I feel it is better.

A part description should be accurate, period. But as far as common terminology goes, all trim on vehicles is called chrome trim when most all of it is polished stainless, aluminum, or even plastic, with very few pieces being chrome plated steel or chrome plated at all. The proper and accurate term in the industry is "brightwork".

I’m aware of the terminology and that aluminum doesn’t rust but I like the idea of steel with good chrome. I’m in Ca and my truck never goes out in the rain so I’m not worried about rust.

Carparts got back to me today. They are searching their inventory to see if in fact they have a steel one. LMC said they don’t expect any for 10 + weeks

Stay with the steel as there are are other ways of ruining the finish on Aluminum ,,like my new 65 Chevy truck ..I drove through an inch of pulp at a paper mill where I was working at ,,,and some of that splashed up on my grille ,,I did not get it cleaned off until after work and by then it was perminent bloctched.. this is rare ,,but,, no telling what is on the highway ahead of you that some one spilled just waiting for ya..

OK. Here’s the deal. After 13 working days they tell me they DO NOT have a steal Grill anywhere in there inventory. WOW. They did send me A ROA to send it back at no charge to me. Now I get to wait for my Refund.
I’m glad I tried these guys. To be honest the Aluminum Grill looks Great, it’s just not what I wanted. I have a decent Aluminum one. If you keep on them they Do respond to e mails very quickly.
Learn from my bad experience. I’ll let you know when I get my full refund, Hopefully
Decided to wait on a grill and do QA1 coil overs on the front. Already have them on the rear
I like them A LOT

Now they want ME to pay for return shipping. They say they only pay for return shipping if it’s Company error. Isn’t sending me the wrong part Not Company Error?? Some will argue you ordered a grill you got a grill BUT it is not as advertised and they do offer both Steal and Aluminum. If I can get them to refund the difference between the Steal grill and the Aluminum grill ,$88, I’ll keep it.
