Zero options?

My 68 GMC does not have the label on the inside of the glove box that I see on other trucks The truck appears to be completely original and there are no signs of the label being removed. My guess is that without having any options there was no need for the label? Is this true?

I can't imagine that. That label has the VIN and the model number on it and every truck has a VIN and model number. I basically have a "no options" truck. They find crap to put on the label, even if it's totally BS like the paint color of the truck. Check mine out, it has "painted bumper" and "green vinyl trim" (dash pad, maybe?):

All trucks should** have a SPID label. At minimum the RPO's should** list model # and color.

** Should is a relative term that should not be construed as "has to be", "definately is", "without a doubt", "bet my paycheck on", "good as gold", "sure as death and taxes", or any other 100% guarantee as to the efficacy of the above statement(s). Your mileage may vary

Didn't some COPO's not have option stickers. Maybe for the military?

Here is a panel truck with no options, but it still has the sheet for the color and the model.

Glovebox door could have been replaced from a wreck? I know that
aftermarket ones come w/ out stickers, I know I'm building one.

I also have a 68 gmc that looks like it never had an option sticker. I have owned it since '86. I have seen a couple others with no stickers, but they were all gmcs.

I guess they could be left off. They`re just stickers on a removable minor part,so not much good for true VIN ID.My`72 Highlander with original paint doesn`t have one and I figured someone did a real good job of removing it without leaving any damage.I`ve been disappointed about that, since it`s a high option and rare truck.Like 71swb4x4`s panel,it wasn`t just for options. They always showed model and color, which are options.Just free options. You have the option of configuration and color. All rear bumpers were options back then.My`72 SWB has guages and sway bar options. That`s it.

I have a '67 GMC that doesn't appear to have ever had one. All 3 of my '67 Chevys do have them, along with my '69 C-30, 70 GMC, and 71 GMC that have them too. The '67 GMC I have is bare bones, but no more than the '67 C-10 or the 71 GMC. I guess it just depended the day, shift, and how much alcohol the worker that put it together had consumed the night before

The one in my '69 C-30 was ruined by the PO taping it up when he changed the color of the interior. It was fairly optioned truck, and I really wish I could read all of it. It came with a 396/SM465 , PB, PS and had deluxe door panels. It has what I think are factory stainless steel door edge guards which I haven't seen on many trucks.

One of my 67's has no sticker & no evidence of there ever being one.

The door looks original, same fade as the rest of the red, now faded to orange, interior. Interesting to find out some of the GMCs may not have had them. Must have been a drunk guy on the line in 68. Thanks for the info.
