sidemarkers did you know

up to 1995 chevy van side marker lights fit our trucks exactly like the originals. you can still buy them new at gm or used at salvage yards. they make a real nice upgrade.

The guy across the street has one of those vans. I wonder if he would notice if they were missing? [just kidding] Thanks for the info. Joseph

Re: sidemarkers did you know

I have a set on my Blazer. I think they fit better than the originals. The edges are tapered and meet the sheet metal smoothly. The picture doesn't show them very well but it is the only one I have. The Blazer has junkyard marker lights from a early 90's van and the truck has the standard marker lights.

Re: sidemarkers did you know

Can someone post a close-up picture of the lenses so I can see how they look?

And by sidemarkers we're talking about both the amber lens on the front side fender and the red lens on the side of the bed, correct?

Thanks!

That does look better, and no worries about chrome rings popping off.

Best kept secret mod, for 67-72 truck's, they hug the body much better and don't have that ugly ridge around the perimeter as do the truck versions, also look better from the side (no divide line for the reflector/bulb assembly)....just ordered a new set of ambers from Brother's...have em on by Fri. will post pics.

"Truck"...version markers in this pic ie. "ugly"... (maybe that's why I lost this show!!) I'll do a side by side with the new one's this weekend .......

Re: sidemarkers did you know

I got the "smoothie" lights for my two projects as well. Look really good and fits really good and itis dirt cheap to do and one of the easist thing you can do to change the apperance of our 68's-72's. They came on the vans from about 83-like 97.

Be sure to take the proper tools with you to the pull a part as they are not phillips head ,more like torx or something .I was going to get some on my last trip there but didnt have the torx driver to get them.

Re: sidemarkers did you know

I have always liked them too. I run an original set of deluxe markers on my truck because they are my favorite style. My little brother got some repro deluxe and the chrome rings kept falling off, so he was running my original markers until I got a set of these off of a junk van at the gas station I work at and them look so much better.

Don't have to worry about the torx....just get brand new one's from Brother's,...there cheap enough I figured why bother to scour the wrecking yards to find a decent set.
