Hello From Tejas 55.1 GMC 100

Hello All,

New guy here.

I currently have a 55.1 GMC 100 1/2 ton 5 window custom cab short bed that has been following me around since 1977.
I purchased the truck in Lubbock Texas, drove it for 3 yrs and then tore it down to " Hot Rod" it.
At the time I had installed a mildly cammed 4 bolt main 350 and turbo 400 tranny.
Moved to the Dallas Fort Worth area when life got in the way of the truck until mid to late 90's when I bolted on a 76 front suspension from a GMC 1/2 ton and swapped out the rear end.
Again life crept in and the project stalled.

Retired in 2017 after 40 yrs and last year I finally realized what direction I wanted to take the truck at this stage in my life.
Which brings me here.

My current plan is I am going to install a Flat Out Engineering C4 Corvette suspension and swap the 350/turbo 400 for a LS 6.0 and have not decided on the tranny yet.
I have sourced a dana 44 C4 IRS and a C4 IFS both 84-87 yrs.

Well thats my introduction, look forward to your thoughts and idea's!

Welcome! That sounds like quite a project. Congratulations for holding on to your truck through thick and thin.
