Pics of your 18" wheels/ tires?

I've decided to go with 18's on my shop truck and would like to see what you're running - tire size specifically.

I can't go with a lower profile and want to stay above a 40/45 series tire.

Let me see what you've got.

I think I'm leaning towards a 255/55/18....

Re: Pics of your 18" wheels/ tires?

I don't have any pics, because I haven't done it yet. i scored some 18x9's real cheap, and though the 255/55 looks to acceptable in the width department, ive got some 255/50s on my last project and and worried that the 55s will leave the rim too little just-in-case curb room. 1010tires.com has a pretty awesome calculator for measurements and rotational speed differences.

I'll follow this one with ya.

Re: Pics of your 18" wheels/ tires?

18's on mine.

18x9.5 out back & 8's up front w/ 275/55 & 255/50.

I like a little bigger diameter wheel and really like a little more tire sidewall.

That's pretty slick, that may be the setup right there.

They both look great. I agree that more side wall is better. The 18's are the ticket. Now I know what to be lookin for.

Unfortunately I can't remember!.....had this truck since 91 and bought a kit way back then when much wasn't available. The kit utilized stepped A-arms and springs and looking at other pics my best guess is it's about a 4/6 and maybe a tad lower than that.

Re: Pics of your 18" wheels/ tires?

285/60.18 on a set of 8 luggers , made by center line, I had to lift front a tad, due to tire and wheel combo, fenders rubbed tires upon hitting big bumps, I went with a set of rancho lifting coils, I got three inch lift and straightened out the rake it had, now its level .........

Truck is dropped 2.5/4. I kept the original springs on the front with 2.5 drop spindles so it may be a little lower than 2.5. 37 year old springs may have a little sag.

Re: Pics of your 18" wheels/ tires?

Alright, for some reason this idea looked better in my head than in person.

15's replaced with 18's:

255/55/18 up front and 275/55/18 in the rear.

Before and after pics below.

Extra points awarded for trying something different? You saw it here first! Nissan Titan/ Armada 18"x8" wheels on a 67-72.

Well,IMO no larger diameter wheel looks good with the truck at stock height.
How about someone do a photoshop 5/7 drop on the new pic and see what it looks like...

Photoshop work courtesy of SIK6FOR.

If I weren't having to sell this truck, this is what it would probably look like -
