Extended Oil Fill Tube Securing Bolt ?
I removed this to gain access for HEI install. 2 Questions, can you use a regular oil cap in the present valve cover grommet , is the bolt necessary or replaced with shorter version ? Thanks

You can use the same cap to plug the valve cover that is on the top of that. you'll need a 1/4'' shorter bolt to go in the hole you pulled that out of since it helps seal the intake manifold.

Re: Extended Oil Fill Tube Securing Bolt ?
Yup- same rubber oil plug on the top of the fill neck will fit in the valve cover.
Curious why you had to remove it for installing HEI- I had one of these on my '72 K5 Blazer and had no issues with clearance or accessing the distributor.

Re: Extended Oil Fill Tube Securing Bolt ?
I removed everything on that side so I could remove the valve cover to help find TDC #1 plug. Also cleaning up everything for paint. I will reinstall it after I finish the job...thanks for the information guys !
