Test area?

I thought the board used to have a "test area", a forum where you could experiment with different ways of using the board's various features. I can't find it.... was it only in my imagination, or maybe on another board?

Reason I'm asking is this old man has never figured out how to post pics. I found powerdriver 1958's instructional thread but would rather not clutter up the board with my attempts.
