I checked on my suburban compared to my brothers cab and they both are different than above the front doors.

This is proving to be a pain to get lined up just right, by the way.
is this what your looking for I havent worked on this side much still need to work on the drip rail

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

Got some more work done on the b pillar. I think this is the most time consuming
part so far, glad im not keeping track of my hours! I really just tied up some small details.

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

Here's some more, the little notch cut out of the lower part is to clear the part of the hinge that keeps the door open. I will fix that after I get the outer skin done.

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

This is the layer I'm welding on the outer part of the b pillar to add strength
and copy the other side like the factory did. Now all 4 sides will be doubled 16gauge which is more than the factory did on the other side.

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

Alright, now I have another question for you. Are your B-pillars different widths? My right is 1/4" wider than what is there from the factory on the left? It freaked me out when I measured my door openings and they were 1/4" different. Luckily I set the rear of the cab from the leading edge of the B-pillars.

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

No, I was talking about the inside... I think mine is 5 1/2" on the right, and 5 1/4 on the left. That will be fixed when I put the lip in that the weatherstrip attaches to.

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

Right now I am so glad that I squared everything up from the front of the B-pillar! I would have been SCREWED because I didn't notice the difference until this point!

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

I think I finally got the b-pillar wrapped up. now I can move on to the rocker that should go pretty quick its already half done. Next weekend is a long weekend so I hope to take the truck over to fellow board member boddydropped68's shop and extend the frame. I'm very exicted about doing the frame so I can finally see how this thing is going to look!

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

I also got the front driver door latch all finisded up. This pic is comparing it to the passenger side front door. It took 3 latches to make this one.

Re: Brave or crazy? crewcab build

Truck is all loaded up ready to go to bodydropped68's shop for its frame stretch
Looks like ill have to make 2 trips because the bed and frame doner section would not fit on my trailer with the truck. But it will all fit on the way back!
